ladywithcoffeeWhile there are various causes of infertility, a new study and the first of its kind, had some interesting findings. The European Journal of Personality recently published a study suggesting personality may have an affect on fertility.

The study was done by researchers from the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis. Researchers gathered data from over 7,000 men and women. The results of the questionnaire suggested that personality does affect the fertility of men and women, though in different ways.

For example in women, conscientiousness decreased fertility. For men, openness decreased fertility. But in both men and women, extraversion increased fertility.

As we mentioned, this study is the first of its kind, therefore more studies will need to be done in order further understand its findings.
